Arriving in Greymouth from the
south (Christchurch or the Glaciers), Gables Motor Lodge is situated on the left hand side of the main road
opposite the Aquatic Centre.
If you are driving from the
north (Westport, Nelson/Blenheim or Hanmer Springs), head south from the town centre 1.5 kms along State Highway 6, and you will find us on the right hand side of the road.
New World supermarket and
Dominos Pizza are five minutes walk from the motel, and a quality
licensed restaurant which serves breakfast and dinner seven days a week, and lunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, is
approximately two minutes walk away.
Shantytown is 12 kms south of the motel, while
Punakaiki (Pancake Rocks) is just 45 minutes drive north on the scenic coastal road between Greymouth and Westport. From the motel, it is a 15 minute walk to the beach and 30 minutes to the notorious Greymouth River "bar" which offers fantastic views of the coastline to the north and south.
